As the turf season gets under way, Timeform take a close look at the form of three prominent trainers.
Mick Channon has his string in fine form as the turf season kicks into gear. His two-year-olds certainly appear to be well forward with two winners, a second, and a fourth from just four runners. His older horses are also running consistently with Youmzain an admirably fourth in the Dubai Duty Free despite not getting the run of things. Near at hand, Pearl of Manacor should go close tonight in the 7.55 at Kempton for the Berkshire trainer.
Another trainer set to start the turf season brightly is Wiltshire handler Richard Hannon. Hannon is invariably quickly off the blocks and this year should be no exception. Although he has only saddled two turf runners, his runners on the all-weather continue to go well, and they should be able to continue in good form when the turf really gets going in the next few weeks.
Over the jumps, Evan Williams has hit a rich vein of form, with his horses all running consistently well, and should continue to do so over the coming months. Williams' runs State of Play in this year's Grand National and the 2006 Hennessy winner goes there with a decent chance having already won the Charlie Hall and run creditably in the Rowland Meyrick this season.
