Boyle on the march, Pipe hits form at the right time and the wait goes on for Gingell... Timeform take a close look at three trainers.

Jim Boyle has his string in fine form at present and, since the turn of the year, has sent out eight winners from 43 runners for an 18% strike rate.

Boyle has also had 20 runners placed during that period, including runners-up in February alone. A sign of the trainer's talents is Boyle's rejuvenation of the former Ed Dunlop trained Formation and the four-year-old has now won two of his four starts for new connections, including a valuable handicap at Lingfield last Saturday.

The mid-winter months were a bleak time for David Pipe, Madison Du Berlais's Hennessy victory aside, and the trainer is beginning to hit form at the right time with Cheltenham under three weeks away. Pipe enjoyed a double at Sandown on Friday courtesy of Ronaldo Des Mottes and Torphichen and an across the card treble on Saturday, with Painter Man and Ashkazar successful at Wincanton and Consigliere obliging at Ascot. Quillygham's victory at Taunton on Tuesday kept the bandwagon rolling and the Nicholashayne trainer's entries over the next few days are worth keeping an eye on.

One trainer badly struggling for form at present is Norfolk handler Matt Gingell, who has gone 98 runners and two hundred and twenty one days since saddling Mount Usher to win at Perth in early August.
