Timeform profile three trainers who will be hoping to for hoping for success from a clutch of entries in the near future.
Len Lungo didn't have the greatest of seasons last year, recording just ten victories, but he has started this term in good form, saddling five winners from his last fourteen runners for a 36% strike rate. A treble at Sedgefield on the 11th November gave Lungo four winners in just two days, following Skipper's Brig's success at Carlisle and leaving the trainer showing a level stakes profit of £7.00. His entries at the Kelso, Haydock and Ayr over the next few days should be closely watched.
Evan Williams has endured a flying start to the 2008/9 season, having sent out his fiftieth winner of the campaign when Simarian won the Juvenile Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday. He looks well on course to better his best seasonal total of sixty seven winners, recorded in 2006/7. The Glamorgan trainer has a strong course strike rate at Huntingdon, Sedgefield and Uttoxeter and has been particularly active in both November and December in previous years, so expect to see his horses holding their form for a while yet.
Henrietta Knight's Lockinge yard continues to struggle for form and hasn't registered a winner since Benmore Boy struck at Towcester on 30th May. She has now saddled 49 runners without success, including 24 this month alone and only four of which finished in the frame. With just three winners this season, the trainer will be hoping for a change of luck sooner rather than later.
