Timeform discuss tremendous style, one of the busiest trainers around and 13 winners in one month...

Peter Chapple-Hyam has struck form in tremendous style over the last couple of weeks. The Newmarket-based trainer had endured a fairly slow start to the turf season, but in previous campaigns his string has come right about this time of year and it looks to be the same in 2009, too. Chapple-Hyam had a winner at Newmarket on May 14th with Bombina and, including that winner, he's had seven winners from only seventeen runners, a cracking strike rate of 41%. During that period, Open Sesame and Alan Munro have teamed up to win handicaps at Newmarket and Haydock and Exceptional Art was successful in a competitive race on Temple Stakes day, also at Haydock.

Richard Fahey is one of the busiest trainers around at the moment, sending out sixty-six runners in the past fortnight. His team has been in good form since the start of the turf season, with the recent highlight being stable-star Utmost Respect's success in a Group 3 at the Curragh. He was just one of fourteen winners in the past fourteen days at a strike rate of 21%. Only half of those winners have been ridden by stable-jockey Paul Hanagan, with Tony Hamilton enjoying success on board Sunnyside Tom at Carlisle and Antigua Sunrise and Mr Freddy at Beverley this week.

William Haggas has had at least one winner every month so far this year and, to date, has now had 13 winners in May. Six of those have come from his last twenty-two runners at a rate of 27%. He has one of the few English contenders for the Derby in the Dee Stakes winner South Easter, and Haggas is often a trainer worth following almost blindly once his team really hits the blocks.
