Timeform discuss a trio of trainers for whom the good times are rolling...
Sir Michael Stoute has been in great form recently, notching 12 winners from just thirty-nine runners at a strike rate of 31%.
He took the Group 3 Nayef Joel Stakes at Newmarket with Confront and a Group 3 at Gowran Park in Ireland with Ave, while there have been notable placed efforts, too, the highlight Zacinto's second in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot.
Arguably the performance of note, however, came from Workforce who made a most impressive debut when winning a two-year-old maiden at Goodwood by six lengths. With the runner-up Oasis Dancer going on to take the Tattersalls Timeform Million, it's no surprise that bookmakers have been quick to give Workforce a prominent position in both the 2000 Guineas and Derby markets.
Ralph Beckett's string seem to be running very well at the minute as he increases the yard's winners for the fourth consecutive season. From his last twenty-five runners he has had eight places and five winners (20%), the highest profile of those being the victory of the aforementioned Oasis Dancer in the Tattersalls Timeform Million at Newmarket. Beckett had an impressive winner yesterday in Ceilidh House who ran out a four-length winner of a Nottingham maiden despite running very green. She looks an exciting prospect.
Saeed bin Suroor continues in good form, and as a result Godolphin have achieved their best figures for over five seasons. In the last two weeks they have amassed twelve winners from just sixty runners (20%). One of the highlights during that period was the performance of the very well-related colt Anhar. Having his first start, he overcame a poor draw and greenness to assert in what looks an above-average maiden at Nottingham. Anhar looks sure to be suited by further and should make a good three-year-old.
