Timeform discuss the different fortunes of three high-profile trainers...

Admittedly, Henry Cecil's Twice Over and Jacqueline Quest were not hard pressed to complete a couple of facile victories, but that takes nothing away from the current form of their trainer. From the 10 runners he's sent out in the last week, six have been successful and not one of the remaining four failed to make the frame. Cecil has boasted a level stakes profit and strike rate of 28% with his juvenile runners this year, figures that will have no doubt been boosted recently, with just one of his last nine two-year-old runners finishing unplaced (fourth).

Since emerging from the doldrums, Marcus Tregoning's stable has been as good as ever and he's continued his fine form in the last week or so, recording four wins from his last nine, the most notable of those being the lightly-raced Cumberland Lodge winner Mawatheeq. Tregoning's three-year-olds and older horses, like Mawatheeq, are less exposed than most at this stage in the season and that freshness should give them an edge in the remaining few weeks.

Alan Jarvis has had a torrid time of it since taking over from Karl Burke in July. Jarvis went without a winner throughout September with many of his runners finishing soundly beaten and until there are hints of a resurgence, his horses are best watched.
