Timeform chart the varying recent fortunes of three prominent trainers...
Mrs Caroline Keevil has been in tremendous form over the past two weeks. She is operating at a 36% strike-rate (4-11) since April 2nd, and is showing a very healthy profit on her runners. She has also had three of her other runners reach the frame, the only horses not going close being the ones that weren't entitled to do so. Today she saddles Silver Phoenix in the closing bumper at Cheltenham, and the booking of Richard Johnson catches the eye. The horse responsible for three of the four wins, Dizzy Future, is entered has three entries over the next few days and he should go close in whichever race he's declared in.
P. D. Evans has his string in fine form and they should continue to go well over the upcoming weeks. He is currently operating at a 23% strike-rate (7-31) with plenty of his other runners reaching the frame. His two-year-olds all seem very forward and they should continue to run well in weak early-season maidens and sellers. His star two-year-old, Star Rover, will try to retain his unbeaten record at Thirsk tomorrow. It will take a good novice to beat him, although he has plenty of weight to carry.
David Pipe has gone twenty-nine runners without a win and doesn't appear to be in great form. With just a few placed runners since Aintree, he's had a few seemingly well fancied runners run well below form. Opposing them should continue to pay for the time being.
