Mr Thriller (right) is a horse to watch in the David Pipe yard

" In 2008/9 Pipe endured a torrid time, only sending out 76 winners, but this season looks to be a very different story, nine winners in the past fortnight has boosted his tally to 57 and he looks to have several smart prospects for later in the year, none more so than Mr Thriller (pictured) who looks a hurdler to follow."

A trio of handlers in good form at present

Well Chief may have been vanquished in the Tingle Creek but the David Pipe yard is generally in excellent form. In 2008/9 Pipe endured a torrid time, only sending out 76 winners, but this season looks to be a very different story, nine winners in the past fortnight has boosted his tally to 57 and he looks to have several smart prospects for later in the year, none more so than Mr Thriller (pictured) who looks a hurdler to follow ([17.5] to win the World Hurdle).

Warren Greatrex took a while to get going after taking over from Carl Llewellyn in October, but the rookie trainer has now well and truly found his feet. Quartano has recorded two of Greatrex's six career successes to date, doing so in such style that connections may even be tempted to aim him at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Reg Hollinshead trained ten winners in December 2008 and it is shaping up to be a similar story this time around. The Staffordshire handler has sent out four winners in the past fortnight and looks to have his string in top form. The admirably consistent Iron Out ended a run of frustrating seconds by recording back-to-back wins at Wolverhampton to kick off the good run.
