Seven start this one, Timeform talk us through their respective chances.

The Smallfield Handicap (5)

Bee Stinger sprung back to life when winning over this course and distance just over a fortnight ago. He remains on a feasible mark and appeals as the most likely winner.

Wavertree Warrior is reliable on the whole despite a long losing run, but his best efforts are generally around seven furlongs and a mile. He has been well held the last twice, however.
Murrin: Great Leighs event he won in January was low on quality though he has done nothing wrong to finish placed both starts since. He is more than likely to be in the shake-up.

Solent Ridge stopped his alarming slide with three reasonable efforts this year. He is potentially on a good mark but more is needed if he is to end his losing run.

My Shadow is an inconsistent hold-up handicapper who made a successful return from a break when upped to a mile and a quarter at Kempton last month. He finished well held there next time and has a bit to prove back down in trip now.

Lopinot won two of his last four starts and is fully effective under these conditions. Although he was beaten last time, he does remains well treated judged on some of his older form.

Marmooq is a capable and consistent performer in this sort of grade and is fully effective on this surface. He improved a little to win at Kempton last time but this looks tougher again.
