"Bobbie Soxer was a decisive winner at Leicester in May and has often shaped better than the bare result suggests since, not given a hard time at Bath latest outing. No surprise to see her involved in the finish. "
Nine go to post for this one, Timeform talk us through their respective chances.
The cards haven't fallen right for Bobbie Soxer of late, but she now looks ripe to take advantage of what may prove to be a lenient mark. Both My Kingdom and Bahamian Lad are feared, that pair also not necessarily in the handicapper's chains.
Baby Strange is an edgy but likeable sort and is always to be feared in this type of race. He is looking favourably treated again and it is easy to forgive his latest poor run (unsuited by fibresand/5f trip).
Drawnfromthepast won a listed race at Royal Ascot as a two-year-old, but missed all of 2008. There have been signs that his ability is still there this year, although he has gone off the boil of late.
Little Pete started the season well but has not shown much spark of late, often looking hard work, and his long losing run/trip (best at 5f) are more reasons to dismiss him.
Carved Emerald won a minor event at Deauville last year, plus she ran respectably in French listed contests for her previous yard earlier this term. However, she cut no ice on her recent debut for her new yard.
My Kingdom showed improved form when winning at Brighton in August, matching that on two of his three runs since. Canny trainer still typically has this sprinter on the up.
Vhujon was twice successful over course and distance and is now starting to look well-treated. Consistency isn't his forte, though.
Mogok Ruby is a three-time previous course and distance scorer but it is impossible to perceive him as a viable betting proposition, such is his poor form at present.
Bahamian Lad is an improved sprinter on polytrack this year, bagging three wins at Wolverhampton, most recently in September. He was stitched up by a wide draw last time and even though he is up in the weights he may still have more to offer.
Bobbie Soxer was a decisive winner at Leicester in May and has often shaped better than the bare result suggests since, not given a hard time at Bath latest outing. No surprise to see her involved in the finish.
