Timeform preview the penultimate race on Tuesday's Southwell card, a handicap for three-year-olds run over 1m4f.
This twelve furlong handicap is limited to three-year-olds and is due off at 4.50 with nine runners going to post.
Willie Muir's Sweet Lightning seemingly failed to stay the trip over 14 furlongs at Great Leighs last time, making good headway to two furlongs out before fading. He has been dropped 2-lb by the handicapper since that run and this return to 12 furlongs will suit. Although his best efforts have come on turf, he is a consistent performer.
Reclamation has shown fairly useful form this season and put up a career best effort on her most recent start at Kempton over this trip four weeks ago, when battling on to be two-and-three-quarter lengths third of 11 to Starfala. She has proven her effectiveness on the all-weather, having raced on artificial surfaces for all of her four starts this term.
Deadly Silence won his maiden impressively by eight lengths at this course in May. He hasn't progressed as much as expected from that initial promise; for all that he has posted creditable efforts on his last two starts. He shaped as though a greater test of stamina would suit when tackling twelve furlongs at Ascot last time and although he races off the same handicap mark and acts on this surface he may be found wanting for pace.
A change of stables has seen vast improvement from Precision Break, who has won five of his subsequent seven starts. He continued his upward curve when winning at Kempton last time, beating Borrowdale by a nose, rallying well having been headed one furlong out. Although Precision Break stays further, he is a four-time winner at this trip and is effective on this surface.
The tough Black Dahlia returned to form at Doncaster last time, travelling strongly until two furlongs out but unable to cope with less exposed rivals. She ran creditably last time at twelve furlongs, but has improved markedly since.
Both Merchant of Dubai and Cape Colony ran below form last time, the latter as though something was amiss, but both would have solid claims if reproducing their best efforts, although the former is off a 13-lb higher mark than when he last won. Mezzanisi has been running respectably of late, but doesn't appear the most straightforward.
