Eight are declared for the final race of the year at Yarmouth. There's not many tracks where Michael Jarvis has failed to leave his mark this season and he will be looking to add to his tally of three winners (from just 12 runners so far) in 2008 at the East Anglia track with three representatives from Kremlin House across the course of the afternoon, perhaps his most obvious chance coming with Dark Prospect in this contest.
Best Prospect: Lightly-raced on the level this year and has come nowhere near to repeating the form of his impressive success off 85 at Doncaster in March, typically finding little on a number of occasions in the meantime. Back down to that mark now though, and worth a precautionary check in the market with in-form jockey booked.
El Diego: Best effort from three starts for Aidan O'Brien when length fourth in minor event at Dundalk just over a year ago. Changed hands for 120,000gns after so further improvement expected but likely to need run after lay-off and trainer continues in doldrums (1-46 on Flat in 2008).
Quince: Successes are few and far between but put best foot forward to end long losing run at Leicester in June and showed he's capable of going close off this sort of mark when continuing good record on polytrack when second to Armure at Kempton last month. Not without a chance if leaving lacklustre effort at Newmarket last time behind.
Dr Livingstone: 33/1-success on soft ground at Sandown proved to be no fluke with subsequent exploits of runner-up Times Vital and hasn't been hit too hard for that win. Lightly-raced and worth another chance to progress having been unsuited by patient ride last time.
Woolfall Blue: Won off this mark at Windsor in April 2007 but has looked a shadow of his former self in two starts this year and hard to make a case for.
Buddy Holly: Stable is flying at present and for all this one's progression looks to have levelled off for time being there was plenty to like about his front-running display when fourth to Dar Es Salaam at Newbury last time. Champion Jockey-elect with excellent record round here this season booked and very much in with a shout.
Dragon Slayer: Best efforts around this trip nowadays and took advantage of drop in weights when winning at Sandown in August. 4 lb higher now but short break should have freshened him up and not without a chance if handling softest conditions he's likely to have encountered.
Dark Prospect: Model of consistency this year, following Kempton success with excellent efforts when runner-up over course and distance and at Great Leighs. This potentially a weaker affair than both of those; obvious claims.
