HID Race of the Day Preview

Bankable looked every bit as good for his new stable when runner-up in a Group 3 at Windsor last month and he could prove too strong for Forgotten Voice. Laa Rayb definitely possesses enough ability to upset the applecart, if on a 'going' day, writes Timeform.

Bankable is a very smart performer up to ten furlongs, if not a tad frustrating, having been placed numerous times in Pattern races for previous trainers. He produced a good effort on his first run for a new yard last time and has solid claims once more.

Cadre took advantage of a lenient mark over eight furlongs at Yarmouth in May. He has not quite been at that level since and has work to do taking a step up in class.

Forgotten Voice won his first three starts on all-weather before running away with the Royal Hunt Cup in June. He is up to winning races in Pattern company judged on his Sussex Stakes fourth, but a modest effort last time tempers enthusiasm.

Laa Rayb had blinkers spark a revival when routing his rivals in a hot one-mile handicap at Goodwood in July. He has every chance on that form, but his quirky side was still evident when below par on his last two starts.

Zulu Chief was a wide-margin winner of a mile-and-a-quarter Naas maiden for Aidan O'Brien in 2008 and was placed in a Group 2 afterwards, but more is needed to trouble the best of these on his first run for a new stable after a long absence.

Ada River made a highly encouraging return when runner-up in a listed race over course and distance in August (third has won since). She is probably capable of better yet, but has a tough task at these weights.

This looks a good opportunity for Vertigo On Course, a fast-finishing third at Southwell last week. Young Dottie's success last month is working out well and she also makes appeal, while each-way players could do worse than side with Toolentidhaar....

Despite being the senior citizen of the party, Mister Nous retains plenty of ability, and having won five times in France appears ready to open his British account. The Rainbow Hunter could be more deadly now switched to handicaps and looks a big threat to the selection, with Strategic Plan rated third best....

Jim Tango is open to improvement over fences, and this looks to be Miss Pross' easiest task for some time, but the likeable Bamby gets the nod with conditions to suit back over fences....

The two handicap debutants could be the ones to focus on here, with Ambrogina favoured more than Seamster. Knightfire will have to settle for a place again....
