HID Race of the Day Preview

Timeform run the rule over the field for the Wild Flower Stakes...

The finish is likely to be dominated by Les Fazzani and Saphira's Fire, with preference for the former, for whom Jamie Spencer is an eye-catching booking (30% strike rate when riding older horses for the stable). Princess Taylor is the best each-way option.

Hebridean won twice in 2008, including at Group 3 level. He developed into a very useful hurdler last winter for Paul Nicholls but both efforts back on the Flat last month lacked spark.

Dakiyah is a consistent sort but is usually seen in handicaps. She is likely to be outclassed.

Les Fazzani was runner-up in this race last term and is in great form this year, finishing third in an Italian Group 1 and fourth in this grade at Doncaster on her last two starts. The one to beat.

Princess Taylor is a consistent mare who is better than ever this term, in frame or just outside it most starts at Group/listed level. No reason she shouldn't give it her usual good shot.

Saphira's Fire is a lightly-raced filly who has run cracking races the last twice, finishing third in a Group 2 and listed race at Newmarket. She made a winning debut on polytrack and is a leading contender back on the surface.

Jonnie Skull is out of his depth in this grade.

Mooakada hasn't quite scaled the heights once anticipated but ran one of her better races when chasing home Queen of Pentacles in a listed race at Doncaster last time (Les Fazzani fourth).

Pachattack bounced back with blinkers on when runner-up to Enticement in a listed contest at Newmarket last month. She had no chance with Anmar in a conditions race here last time but is worth a try at this trip.

This looks a good opportunity for Vertigo On Course, a fast-finishing third at Southwell last week. Young Dottie's success last month is working out well and she also makes appeal, while each-way players could do worse than side with Toolentidhaar....

Despite being the senior citizen of the party, Mister Nous retains plenty of ability, and having won five times in France appears ready to open his British account. The Rainbow Hunter could be more deadly now switched to handicaps and looks a big threat to the selection, with Strategic Plan rated third best....

Jim Tango is open to improvement over fences, and this looks to be Miss Pross' easiest task for some time, but the likeable Bamby gets the nod with conditions to suit back over fences....

The two handicap debutants could be the ones to focus on here, with Ambrogina favoured more than Seamster. Knightfire will have to settle for a place again....
