All 11 runners in Newmarket's 1m2f james Seymour Stakes rated by Timeform.
Eleven runners are declared for the second of three listed races on the card at Newmarket.
Smokey Oakey: Improved further this year, following up Lincoln success with first pattern win in messy Brigadier Gerard in May. Well below form both outings since but not one to be giving up on just yet on this only his sixth start of the campaign for all his penalty makes life tougher. Any further rainfall will suit him well.
Drumfire: Fairly reliable and form of win over Blue Monday in minor event over this trip in August has been boosted by that one's resurgence since. Badly hampered when below-par in Darley Stakes last time and no surprise if going better here for all he has a bit to find.
Grand Passion: Not the force of old and appears to run all his best races on the all-weather nowadays. This likely to set him up for another winter campaign on the polytrack and hard to see him making an impact on back of five-month absence.
Kirklees: The class act in the race, having won Italian Group 1 as juvenile when with Mark Johnston. Won both his starts around this trip in 2007 and though clearly had his problems since ran well on his reappearance when third in Darley Stakes last time. Likely to be all the better for that and leading claims for yard typically finishing season on a high.
Lang Shining: Spring Cup success on reappearance marked him down as one to follow and for all he hasn't won again his improved effort when second to Ask The Butler at Newbury over this trip on his penultimate start has worked out well (First and Third in Cambridgeshire behind). Poorly placed in that race himself and his mark rather forces him to take his chance in this company.
Mutajarred: Not straightforward but has improved this year, winning steadily-run minor event at Great Leighs before returning from two-month break with good second to Lady Deauville in listed race over this distance last time. Looks set to get the give underfoot that he relishes and one of the more likely types.
With Interest: Very lightly raced for his age and has enjoyed good year, not needing to be anywhere best when landing odds in minor event at Musselburgh last time, deserving extra credit having been left with plenty of ground to make up. This is clearly much tougher and looks stable's second choice on jockey bookings but not without a chance.
Bronze Cannon: Touted as Derby prospect when winning brace of good handicaps over course and distance in the spring but never looked comfortable when well held in King George and has presumably had his problems since. Bit to prove now and watching brief advised on his return from four-month absence.
Duncan: Justified short odds impressively in maiden at Pontefract and improved markedly when sixth to Buccellati in listed event here last time, still looking green. Type to keep progressing with racing and lively contender dropped back in trip.
Jack Dawkins: Looked a horse with big future when winning competitive nurseries at Doncaster final two starts last year and shaped really well on return from a year off when second to Mangham at Pontefract last month, coming through strongly to challenge before lack of race-fitness took its toll. Will be well suited by this step up in trip and looks smart prospect.
Under The Rainbow: Losing run stretches back to juvenile days but has run well on a number of occasions this year, notably behind thriving Crystal Capella on her last two starts. Attitude possibly not all it could be though and likely to find life tough in this competitive-looking race.
