Never mind sitting on the face, Timeform explain why you should back a young master...
The Aidan O'Brien-trained juvenile Fencing Master produced a promising debut display when winning a maiden at Dundalk last Sunday, over seven furlongs.
The market is usually a good guide to the ability and fitness of the Ballydoyle debutants, and the fact that the son of Oratorio was sent off at [6.0] suggested he wasn't high up in the pecking order. However, it would seem possible that Fencing Master has similar traits to his father, who was notoriously lazy, as he seemed to be carrying plenty of condition, as well as holding a huge physical frame.
Fencing Master also seemed to idle when challenged by runner-up Moonreach, who had finished fifth in a listed race on his previous start. The form looks strong with the pair pulling clear of the third and there looks to be plenty of scope for improvement, especially when stepped up in trip.
