"At Cartmel on Saturday, Shanballa looked an utter bargain at £3,000 from Michael Hourigan as he won a Beginners’ Chase over two miles and five furlongs. The Tim Vaughan-trained six-year-old jumped well for a chasing debutant and powered clear on the run-in."
Timeform round up three of the most impressive performers of the last week in racing
Seek N'Destroy justified strong market support when recording his third win of the season in a competitive seven-furlong handicap at Newmarket on Saturday. The Barry Hills-trained colt achieved what he'd promised earlier in the year before a two-month break, tanking along under different tactics (held up) and bursting clear once switched off the rail. Seek N'Destroy's form has been markedly progressive this year, and the manner of his victory suggests he will make his presence felt in better handicaps from now on.
Mudaaraah (pictured in white and blue silks) caught the eye when a close second to Sent From Heaven in the Group 3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood on Saturday. John Dunlop's two-year-old travelled strongly and seemed undone by the course, leaning down the camber as she laid down her challenge and getting bumped as a result, but she finished strongly after regaining her momentum. This run didn't get to the bottom of Mudaaraah and she's well up to winning in pattern company against her own sex, especially when tried over a mile.

The Tim Vaughan-trained six-year-old jumped well for a chasing debutant and powered clear on the run-in. He ended his hurdling career on the upgrade, winning at Killarney, and looks sure to win again over fences.
