Plenty of benefits to laying this fringe...
16:40 Goodwood - LAY - Fringe (Forecast 2.0)
Today's race is the 16:40 at Goodwood, a class 5 maiden over 1mile 2 furlongs. Fringe is favourite trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam and ridden by John Egan.
But Fringe is amongst the most talentless fillies in training and is still a maiden after seven races. She was a beaten favourite in a handicap over 1 mile 4 furlongs last time where she looked unenviably one-paced.
Dropping down to this shorter trip is against her and she faces a tough task as the only 4yo in the field giving weight to more progressive 3yos.
All seven of the trainer's runners in October have been beaten and she has never had a winner at this track.
Fixation and Accusation are likely to run big races and I will be laying the disgraceful long-term maiden horse Fringe.
