This Alonso won't be first past the chequered flag
19:00 Wolverhampton - LAY - Alonso De Guzman (Forecast 3.25)
Today's race is a class 6 Classified stakes over 1 mile 4 furlongs where Alonso De Guzman trained by J Boyle and ridden by Jamie Spencer is the forecast favourite.
But this is a low grade race and Alonso De Guzman is a low grade horse. He just scraped home by a short head in a class 6 handicap last time out, on his first run for a year. This race is likely to come too soon just six days after and the cretinous rogue should struggle to give the weight away under Jamie Spencer.
The win came over 2 furlong shorter and he isn't guaranteed to stay over today's distance. Jamie Spencer has had only the one winner for Boyle in the last five years and this statistic is unlikely to improve today.
It's a competitive race and I, Godfrey Hoopington-Charles, will be laying Alonso De Guzman.
