Fontwell Betting: Paul Nicholls on his Friday runners

View market

It's not all about Aintree of course, Paul sends two to Fontwell...

Aldertune: Ran well here in a 2m7f handicap hurdle last season when just touched off by Magic Sky. Has continued to pay his way since, winning at Chepstow recently despite idling. We put the blinkers on him next time and he didn't disgrace himself when second at Newton Abbot. Obviously, again has chances in this four-runner race.

Shacklesborough: Perhaps hasn't progressed as we would have hoped after winning a Chepstow bumper on his debut in 2009 but ran a decent race when switched back to hurdles when just under 6 lengths third at Taunton recently. This longer trip should hold no fears and he should acquit himself well again. Is ridden by a good young jockey called David Prichard, who will be coming in for more rides for us now Ryan is on the verge of turning professional.
