Kauto Star is unbeaten in Ireland
"A lot of people will look at Denman’s run at Aintree, and think this will be a race too far for Kauto Star, too. But I don’t think that’s the case."
Empire Levant is in action in the 16:20 at Punchestown and at the same course at 17:30 we get to see the great Kauto Star back in action. Let's see what Paul makes of their chances.
EMPIRE LEVANT
Even though he has a bit to find with some of these on form, I see he is trading as the favourite on Betfair and I think he will run really well. He looks fantastic at the moment, the best I have seen him, and he comes here a fresh horse. We deliberately sidestepped Cheltenham but also had to miss Aintree as he trod on a stone and was lame. But he only missed three days work and has been working really well, keeping Kauto Star company for the past three weeks. The course and ground will be ideal for him.
KAUTO STAR
A lot of people will look at Denman's run at Aintree, and think this will be a race too far for Kauto Star, too. But I don't think that's the case. Obviously you never know for sure, and he has never run in May for me before, but he was mad fresh when schooling last Friday and comes here in great form. I was obviously thrilled with his third in the Gold Cup and a reproduction of that run, or indeed his King George form, would see him go close to winning here. He is actually unbeaten in Ireland and this right-handed galloping track should suit him fine.
Back both Paul Nicholls' horses as a Multiple.

just be carefull paul, the public can soon turn against you if he does run again and something goes badly wrong, their view would be that you were more interested in the trainers title and prize money than the horse. its obvious clive thinks hes done enough, it would be great if he could go out on a win, but......which race ru gonna run him in after that, thats the prob, if its against the top boyz he ll prob lose and if its lower class race just to get the win, is it worth the risk?

@golfnut64uk Do you really think its the trainer that wants to continue and not clive smith! i think your a little bit stupid pal!!

clive seems an honest decent chap and hes said several times he thinks ks has done enough, whereas paul, rightly or wrongly , continues to say he thinks ks can continue. for me, ks has done more than enough, i would have finished him after the gc, that was a brilliant race and run, he should have gone out at the top
