Timeform Betfair Racing Club: Indian Daudaie to go for Irish Grade 1 on Sunday

View market

Indian Daudaie, third in the JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial at Cheltenham on Saturday, is an intended runner in the Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown this weekend...

The Paul Nicholls-trained four-year-old, who runs in the colours of the Timeform Betfair Racing Club, features among eleven entries for the two-mile contest at Leopardstown (13:05) on Sunday and looks to have an excellent chance on Timeform figures, the form he showed when third behind Local Hero at Cheltenham on Saturday making him a clear top rated in the €70,000 race.

Timeform Ratings (weight adjusted)
155 INDIAN DAUDAIE
146 SAILORS WARN
142P UNACCOMPANIED
141 TILLAHOW
141 FEARLESS FALCON

Paul reported earlier in the week that Indian Daudaie was fine following his Cheltenham exertions and the plan was to let him take his chance at Leopardstown, with the likelihood of softer ground sure to be in his favour. He will give a further update at 8am on Saturday morning in his weekend runners column here on Betting.Betfair.

    who rides this lad?

I've got to say Indian Daudaie did look very good on his debut. I fancy him at Leopardstown this weekend. Has anyone got any idea when or where Plenty Pocket's next race will be?

  3. The Ken | 02 February 2011

    I'm a club member Harvey.

After Plenty's disappointing run, Nicholls is planning to wait for better ground at an easier track. Possibly in a fortnight or so, say Taunton, Ludlow etc.

the irish trainers will have an unexposed juvenile to win this race.you dont think trainers like weld, harrington or noel meade will let paul nicholls take the pot home that easily.these trainers have decent flat horses,so im sure they can spot a decent juvenile hurdler in their stable,be warned !

was a great run behind local hero i bet the winner as hes classy and your horse done well to get so close to him and is a obvivious improver think u will win but id be supprissed if u wasnt odds on so ill watch not bet as i dont like the short price horses good luck though

155 rating seems very harsh. cant see last weeks 1 2 3 placed in Fred let alone triumph

  7. The Ken | 03 February 2011

@ Paul - there is no question that these Irish horses have plenty of scope to improve. But you've got to take them on sometime. no better time when there is plenty of money on offer.

@lewi38 - If this Nicholls horse went off odds on I'd agree with you. However it's most likely to go off 5/2 if not bigger. Kauto Star's colours might shorten the price but there is no chance he'll be odds on. Unaccompanied will be 2/1 or shorter on Sunday.

  8. paul | 04 February 2011

i would not back it at 33/1 with your money the way nicholls juvenile's have run eg. plenty pockets,brampour-do yourself a favour save your money for another race (there must be 20 or more races to bet on everyday, and better value!)

  9. lewi 38 | 05 February 2011

well if it goes of odds against i think that will be a fair price as hes 9 pound clear on ratings and surelly he has a tone of improvement in him so i wait and see

  10. lewi38 | 05 February 2011

yes u are right ken over 3-1 on betfair at the moment if timeform are right is a big price if is the word though lol
