Trainer Martin Brassil has warned punters there will be no decision made regarding the participation of Nickname until a few days before the Champion Chase.
The eight-year-old recorded his fifth win of the season on Sunday, scoring by an easy 12 lengths in a contest at Naas, but will only run at Cheltenham if he has his soft ground conditions.
"We won't decide until probably about three days before the race whether he will go for the Queen Mother," said Brassil.
The Irishman was pleased with his charge's performance, despite jockey Ruby Walsh being concerned by the slow early pace.
"Ruby said they went a bit steady and he knew they were going to quicken up at one stage.
"I was happy with the way he went away on he run-in and it's a privilege to have a horse like him," added Brassil.
Nickname is available at 10.5 for the Queen Mother Champion Chase on Day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival (March 14), in a market headed by Well Chief (2.94) ahead of Newmill (5.2) and Voy Por Ustedes (6.6).
