Nicky Richards is not planning to give Faasel another outing prior to the Grade 1 Arkle Chase, even though the gelding has only had one run over fences.
The one-time useful hurdler made a triumphant fencing debut at Catterick (2m3f) in January when showing Euro American a clean pair of heels as soon as rider Tony Dobbin kicked in the turbo up the home straight..
"It would be doubtful if he had another race before Cheltenham. He might go to Kelso and he might go to Kempton, but it would be more likely he would head straight to Festival, reported Richards.
Despite an obvious lack of experience, Faasel has been backed from a high of 230.0, to his current odds of 19.5 on the Betfair win market.
