We've seen the auditions - but which horses have made the cut for this afternoon's 3.10 at Bath. This exciting new service starts today !

Welcome to a new daily tipping column on betting.betfair.com - The XY Factor. Each day we carefully select a race (usually a handicap) which is then analysed by our computer which predicts the % chance of each horse in the race based on a wide range of variables and our unique algorithm.

The results are plotted on the graph - and the 'selection line' is plotted - anything above the line we are interested in backing - anything below misses the cut.

We aren't afraid to have more than one bet in the race where the prices dictate and the service is fully accountable with running totals of weekly and monthly returns to the recommended stakes.

Whilst the approximate price is given at the time of publishing - the final returns will be based on the Betfair Starting Price (BSP) for consistency.

Today's Verdict:
This marathon handicap has cut up a little with news of the three non runners this morning but still looks open and ripe for a big priced winner. Three-year-olds have a good record in the race and TOBAGO BAY should run well off bottom weight and a repeat of his excellent effort at Goodwood last time out when a head runner-up to Hamsat Elqamar (pair finished seven lengths clear) could easily be good enough. The better ground today is no problem for this runner. At the other end of the handicap ROCK 'N' ROLLER scores well on our figures - particularly on the strength of his 20/1 second at Goodwood last time. At bigger odds THE COMPOSER is another that is running into form at the right time and is on a low handicap mark at present.
