Mountain scrambled home on his hurdling debut at Sandown on Saturday but remains third favourite in the Betfair ante-post market for the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Mountain proved high class on the Flat for Aidan O'Brien, finishing just out of the frame in the Derby, Irish Derby and the St Leger and had been the subject of encouraging reports from the schooling grounds of Jonjo O'Neill's Jackdaws Castle base.
He has traded as low as 7.2 for the Triumph but is now available at 9.6 after overcoming some novice-like jumping to catch fellow newcomer Counting House near the line of Sandown's juvenile hurdle, with the experienced yardstick Ned Ludd back in third.
Jim Old's Counting House proved the big mover in the Betfair Triumph market and can now be backed at 32 having attracted some support at 160.
Irish star Lounaos still heads the betting at 6.6.
