Daraybad proved very disappointing on Saturday - the race being won by the place lay Dancer's Serenade. If you're going to get it wrong - do it in style - and at least with the place lays the liabilities are much shorter than on the win market. In the 2.20 at Kempton on Sunday the hot favourite Faithful Ruler looks too short at around [2.56]. He races off a mark 8lb higher than his course and distance success in November and was a beaten favourite subsequently at Lingfield when racing too freely in the early stages. At the prices, Ever Cheerful appeals more.
