Fresh from a profit on Sunday LayDough heads to Southwell where he has spotted value in the three runner race.
SUNDAY'S RETURN: +2.30 POINTS
RUNNING TOTAL: -1.60 POINTS
Today's Race: SOUTHWELL 1.50
Recommended Bet
Lay HOME to win 7 points
A small profit at Plumpton in the Sussex National on Sunday with the place lay The Risky Viking failing to complete and one of our place bets sneaking into third. Value can exist in any race - the 40 runner Grand National or at the more extreme end - today's three runner 1.50 at Southwell. We would only be interested in the hot favourite Home at around [1.6] so at the current odds of [1.4] he must be a lay. We prefer laying to backing Just Mossie as it will give us the other runner Liz Long - and stranger things have happened in three horse races. In a race of tactics it might not take the most detailed strategy to get Home beaten - he was beaten in a claimer last time and even a drop to the basement might not be enough in a race where Just Mossie might just want it more. There's little downside in the lay.
