Things look brighter for supporters of Black Jack Ketchum after trainer Jonjo O'Neill suggested that his star hurdler still has a chance of making Thursday's World Hurdle.
Doubts about his participation heightened last week when the Irishman stated the gelding would not line up in the marathon contest if the ground was too testing.
"He's in grand form and we want to run as long as the ground is right, so the dry spell has come at the right time," said O'Neill
"I just hope it's not a case of too little too late but, assuming the forecast is right, he's a runner.
"We're going to leave our decision until the last possible moment to give him every chance of running. We want to run," he told the Racing Post.
Black Jack Ketchum has now re-established himself at the head of the World Hurdle market on 3.5 having briefly traded at double figure odds following last week's downbeat prediction.
Inglis Drever is next best in the market on 5.7 followed by Mighty Man on 8 and Blazing Bailey at 9.2.
