A trio of jumps meetings to choose from this afternoon, just when it appeared the winter game was winding down, and Wincanton gets the Placepot nod.

2.10 - The novice hurdle won by Triggerman here last month would appear to hold the key to this, with Rebel du Maquis five lengths ahead of Persian Run. There is a niggle with the Nicholls runner after a couple of flops on his record already, though, and Persian Run is selected as the banker.

2.45 - The big, imposing Might As Well looks a good win bet, let alone place selection, after some lenient handicapping on the back of his second to Dancing Mist at Exeter. Otherwise, Painter Man comes with risks, so course-and-distance winner Ballygulleen is taken for the second spot.

3.20 - Minnie Hill seems to always give her running for all she has a quirk or two, while Arctic Watch's Taunton second didn't look a fluke and he seems likely to play a prominent role, too.

3.55 - Arguably the pivotal leg. Kervriou has gone well fresh before and is very much at home on firmish going, while Sou'wester has shown plenty of form over stiff fences and a reproduction of his recent efforts should see him thereabouts. Take both and hope Chilbury Hill's win here is indeed very weak form.

4.30 - Al Amaan takes the eye dropped in trip after a break, but quite whether he's a Placepot horse is a moot point and Tzora appeals more. Yes, he's a rather weak finisher, but he boasts plenty of experience and might well have benefited from a two-month rest. Those looking for a second in this could do worse than likely improver Blue Spartan.

5.05 - No prizes for originality here. One of Watergate and None Le Sage is likely to win, never mind finish in the money, and it's best to select that duo and pray for a couple of the less obvious ones completing the frame.
