Frankie Dettori will be on board Opinion Poll, Terry's first tip of the day
Two bets from Terry Norman today from two very different parts of the world.
There is a plethora of races today but it's Meydan, with around £20million on offer, that takes centre stage with the Dubai World Cup the centrepiece.
The horse that I like best on the star-studded card is Opinion Poll in the Group 3 event over two miles (14.45). In a field of 13, there are only three that you can say with certainty will stay.
Opinion Poll ran a fine race over a 1m6f last time - his first for five months - and he can reverse the form with Fox Hunt over this two furlong further trip. The selection is a proven Group 2 performer but can run in this event without a penalty.
Fury was a horse of mine to follow last season but, after a fifth in the 2,000 Guineas and a second in the Heron, it went horribly wrong. It does take a leap of faith to support him in the Lincoln (15:15 Doncaster).
But I have complete faith in trainer William Haggas and there are reasons to suggest an improvement is forthcoming. The son of Invincible Spirit has been gelded. He has also had a wind operation.
Penitent won this on his seasonal debut for Haggas two years ago for the same connections and the vibes from Newmarket suggest that Fury, who runs off an enticing mark of 98, will do the same.
The ground should be ideal and the draw in nine also gives rider Adam Beschizza, who take off a valuable 3lbs, an option to go either side of the course depending on where the pace is.
Back Opinion Poll (14.45 Meydan) @ [4.1]
Back Fury (15.15 Doncaster) @ [8.2]
