Dan likes the look of Tuesday's Wetherby card

"Should he return even to the sort of form that saw him win a handicap at Stratford in 2007/8, Dancing Partner would take all the beating."

There are a number of possibles this afternoon but Dan Barber has whittled his best bets down to two races at Wetherby, both of which feature suspect favourites.

Anyone fancy lumping on a fragile ten-year-old with a habit of finishing weakly at around evens? No, neither do I, which is why it's worth chancing trainer-change angle Dancing Partner in the 13:40 at Wetherby.

Dancing Partner's days as a useful bumper performer look something of a distant memory, but his old trainer Terry Caldwell has been struggling since the heady days of Mr Cospector and the switch to the bang in-form Micky Hammond could well rekindle the horse; should he return even to the sort of form that saw him win a handicap at Stratford in 2007/8, he'd take all the beating. Just one more thing, though - save on Chadwell Spring, who's potentially well treated on Flat form following another fall in the handicap and may benefit from first-time blinkers.

There are also minor risks attached to the suggestion in the second appealing betting race. Pamak d'Airy is a clumsy jumper whose losing run is mounting, but the lack of rivals in Wetherby's 16:25 should ensure little pressure is placed upon his technique and there's no doubt he's the best handicapped of the quartet if able to bounce back. Prince Tam is effectively 12 lb higher than when winning a lesser-grade affair at Newcastle and isn't always convincing himself jumping-wise, while Sun Tzu's latest third at Market Rasen hasn't worked out and the drop in trip is another question mark.

Recommended bets:

Back Dancing Partner @ [4.0]
Back Chadwell Spring @ [9.4]
Back Pamak d'Airy @ [6.8]
