Rory Delargy joins presenter Gina Bryce on Timeform Radio for jumps meetings at Fontwell and Sedgefield, plus fibresand action at Southwell. Here are his best bets

Backing chasing debutants can be a risky business, but if Millers Reef can jump with any aplomb (and given his trainer Jamie Snowden learnt his trade at the knee of Nicky Henderson, then I'd be very hopeful) he will take a world of beating in the Hardings Catering Handicap Chase at Fontwell (16:10) this afternoon.

He ran with a tongue tie in bumpers for Colin Bowe, and showed much improved form to win over hurdles at Taunton on his handicap bow with the aid reapplied. He's able to race off the same mark due as that was a conditional jockeys race, but will be 7 lb higher in future. That race looked much better than average fare for the time of year, and the same simply can't be said for today's contest.

Topweight Try Catch Me lived up to his name when beating a rag-tag bunch over C&D last time and will presumably try for a repeat, but Alison Batchelor's gelding lacks the scope of the selection, and looks second best today. He's trading around [3.5] on Betfair at present and that is excellent value.

At Sedgefield, I'm very keen to oppose tissue favourite Willie Hall in the handicap chase at 17:00, given that he was most unimpressive in winning a bad contest over C&D last time, seemingly ill at ease on ground which was no worse that good/soft. This mud lover is returned to the track under conditions which are alien to him today, and I can see him blowing out entirely.

Rather than lay him at drifting odds however, I'm keen to take him on with Fred Bojangals. Ann Hamilton's gelding is often undone by his free-going nature, but excels at the Co Durham track, where his chase record reads 13521322, and it will come as no surprise to see him bounce back after a couple of lacklustre efforts elsewhere.

Recommended Bets
Back Millers Reef in the 16:10 Fontwell @ [3.5] (NAP)
Back Fred Bojangals in the 17:00 Sedgefield @ [7.0] (NB)
