Will you back Graham's Meydan picks?
"Looking for value? Keep a close eye on Dark Matter in the 15:45 and Anaerobio in the 18:05."
Graham Cunningham beats the cold in the UK by selecting bets from this afternoon's races at Meydan...
It's hard to escape the conclusion that today's fine Meydan card will throw up a clutch of duels between Godolphin and Mike de Kock. And it's even harder to escape the conclusion that South Africa will be celebrating at least one winner this evening.
De Kock's Bold Silvano has been one of the best backed horses of the day in the 16:55, despite a lengthy break. He's expected to take up where he left off before setbacks ruled him out of the main events at last year's Carnival.
I'm in no rush to oppose him even at a shade of odds on, given how confident his trainer seems, but anyone looking for value at longer odds might find it worth keeping a close eye on Dark Matter in the 15:45 and Anaerobio in the 18:05. It's a price thing with both horses.
Singapore raider Dark Matter is a bigger price than Kinglet and Rassam despite having beaten them over seven furlongs here last time. Another win since showed that he battles hard when things get tough and, with the freewheeling Rassam set to provide a good lead, he holds clear win and place potential over this slightly longer trip.
Anaerobio is trading at a much longer price than De Kock stablemate Mutahadee in the finale at 18:05 and there is no doubt the latter was impressive when bolting up on his debut for the yard in a handicap over course and distance.
Mutahadee still looks ahead of the handicapper from a 6lb higher mark, but ex-Argentinian G1 winner Anaerobio caught the eye when set plenty to do in a tongue tie for the first time on his latest start and it might be worth backing both the De Kock pair at around 3.1 and 20 respectively.
