Will Master Fiddle triumph at Doncaster?

Plenty of runners and extra races are the order of the day over jumps this afternoon. Doncaster and Ludlow stage 15 races between them but there don't look to be many appealing betting events.

Perhaps the day's best option is Master Fiddle in the 14:25 at Doncaster, a maiden chase over three miles. Master Fiddle has started favourite for both previous starts over fences but has made a significant mistake each time. He has been fluent otherwise and shaped well though. In addition, there are negatives about all his main rivals this afternoon as well. He is bred to be both a better chaser than hurdler and to be well suited by this trip. Master Fiddle, with a clear round, will surely go close.

His trainer Nicky Henderson might also have the answer to the last race at Ludlow, a staying novice hurdle at 17:20. His runner Barenger wasn't fluent on his hurdling debut at Doncaster but hopefully he will have learnt from that. This step up in trip should be right up his street. His bumper form reads well, better than any of his rivals, so he's well worth another chance.
