To Newcastle we go!
"Right Enough has already shown he relishes a thorough test, runner-up over 27 furlongs at Kelso on his penultimate start. He didn’t run to his best next time but that came too soon and a six-week break since should see him back to his best."
Newcastle is the sole survivor of today's three scheduled jumps fixtures but David Cleary has dug out two potential bets for you to peruse
Newcastle is the only surviving meeting in Britain over jumps today, with Leicester and Ludlow falling victim to virtually the first cold snap of the winter.
Conditions are sure to be testing in the north east and that could give the edge to Right Enough over Shan Valley in the three-mile handicap hurdle at 14.20.
Shan Valley landed a gamble when much improved on her handicap debut last time and holds good claims under a penalty but she isn't sure to benefit from this extra four furlongs. Right Enough, on the other hand, has already shown he relishes a thorough test, runner-up over 27 furlongs at Kelso on his penultimate start. He didn't run to his best next time but that came too soon and a six-week break since should see him back to his best.
The three-mile chase at 15.50 won't take much winning. Playing The Field beat Teerie Express readily over course and distance last time but the latter was returning from a lengthy break and the handicapper has factored in plenty for the ease of Playing The Field's victory.
Playing The Field doesn't always find much, either, whereas Teerie Express usually does, which may tip the balance in his favour under the conditions.
