A low-key start to the racing week sees just two cards this afternoon, with all-weather action at Lingfield on the Flat and some typical Towcester fare over jumps.

The latter track looks to provide the best bets of the day, with the chance of Cecily Parsley in the handicap chase at 17:00 a most obvious one. She's totally unexposed after just three starts in races she couldn't have won, yet gets weights from all her eight rivals here. Even a most cautious reading of her efforts so far suggest she could be thrown in off a BHA mark of 67, so Cecily Parsley has to be given one chance to prove as much.

Another chasing debutant, Tenitemsplustoast, is by no means so well treated on his slivers of form but he makes speculative appeal in the three-mile handicap at 16:00. With plenty of old lags in opposition, the sort of enthusiasm he showed in front in a decent novice over hurdles last time could well get plenty of these off the bridle a fair way out.
