Egyptology is in action at Kempton this afternoon
Timeform Radio's Terry Norman has picked a couple of selections from today's racing, including a selection in the 16:25 who is looking to climb up the racing pyramid.
Sometimes you have to go with your gut rather than what's in the form book and for that reason I have plumped for Egyptology (16.25 Kempton). Mark Johnston's lightly-raced colt has yet to finish higher than fifth and dropped tamely away on his latest start in November.
However, the strapping half-brother of Naheef (rated 107) has since been gelded and starts from a rating of just 65. Encouragingly, the diminutive Blue Lyric has limited scope and Cuthbert (2lb higher than a mark he was defeated on) is not one to trust in a race in which he won't get his own way.
Finally, Divinsky has been eased in grade and can take full advantage in the Kempton 15.25. Paul Howling has dropped the 9-y-o into claiming company for the first time in nearly four years. Likely to led by the trailblazing Misaro, it should enable Jimmy Quinn to bide his time on the consistent and honest gelding, ideal requirements in a claiming event.
