It's Friday which means another evening of action under the lights at Dundalk....

Forbidden City may not have the best of strike rates but everything else about his profile looks positive in the opening handicap at 17:50. He's not long with his current yard and looks right at the top of his game judged on his last two starts, both coming at this track, travelling strongly and only headed close home by an unexposed rival over seven furlongs last time. He's only 1 lb higher now and is dropping back a furlong, which looks sure to be in his favour. At around [7.0] he is overpriced, especially as in-running punters should have little difficulty in trading out for a profit given his front-running style and good draw.

Elwazeer (18:50) has progressed in leaps and bounds since going handicapping and though that is reflected in his mark (now 30 lb higher than for his initial success in December), he left the firm impression there is still more to come when splitting a couple of in-form sorts over course and distance last week, quickening into what looked a decisive lead a furlong out only to be reeled back by one played even later. A draw in stall 12 isn't ideal, admittedly, but he already looks tactically versatile and, as comfortably the least exposed runner in this field, he looks sure to give a good account.

Spin of A Coin (19:20) finished one place behind Elwazeer last time but is another who couldn't have shaped much better, catching the eye with how he went through the race but briefly hampered in the straight and then just taking too long to hit full stride once in the clear, noticeably strong at the finish. Spin of A Coin has clearly taken well to polytrack, has the promising Sam James on board again, should get the run of the race from stall five and is unexposed at the trip, so looks like banker material.
