"Rayhani... has shown little on the level since but has been dropped a long way in the weights as a result and his jumps form suggests all the ability remains intact"

Smaller fields than has often been the case over the winter at Dundalk tonight but it's still competitive stuff and we've got three more win bets lined up......

The opening minor event (18:20) over the minimum distance looks an interesting affair. Katla and Santo Padre were operating just below pattern company last term and both are respected, especially the former who could be the type to go well for an apprentice. Balmont Mast progressed after a breathing operation last term and enters calculations too, but Celerina is the one with the most convincing credentials. She was a highly impressive winner on her sole AW start last April before going onto to finish second to subsequent Group 1 winner Margot Did at Ayr. She has conditions in her favour and Tommy Stack can usually be relied upon to have his team in good order at this time of year, so she should take plenty of beating.

Zero Euro may not be an obvious selection in the mile handicap (19:20) at first glance, having beaten just three rivals home last time. However, she faced competition for the lead over a trip that stretched her on that occasion and her earlier form looks solid in the context of this race, third in a race that has thrown up a host of subsequent winners over tonight's course and distance in December. Well drawn to adopt positive tactics in stall two and without any obvious other pace-setters in opposition, she could take plenty of pegging back.

Rayhani (20:50) was a useful sort at his best in Britain, winning a Catterick handicap in 2009. He's shown little on the level since but has been dropped a long way in the weights as a result and his jumps form suggests all the ability remains intact, making the frame four times in the past year. In a race lacking obvious threats (both Mutiska and Swing Pattern are long-standing maidens) he seems sure to go well with Pat Smullen an eye-catching jockey booking.
