Today's Irish action is at Cork
"He [Director's Forum] split a pair of next-time-out winners when third to Ange Blanc last time and travelled like the second best horse in the race for a long way"
Timeform's Irish team bring you three selections for the first twilight jumps meeting of the summer in Ireland.
Mark Me Up (16:15) has been thriving of late, runner-up at Limerick and Thurles before winning at Down Royal in convincing fashion. He's likely to have followed up at Fairyhouse last time but for pecking on landing two out and is only a couple of pound higher in the weights today. He looks to have been found another winnable handicap and looks a good bet at [6.0].
It is something of a surprise that Taraval is still a maiden over hurdles but two and a half miles on a flat track such as Cork will not play to her strengths and it could be worth taking the favourite on with the relatively unexposed Hasty Times (17:15). John Joseph Murphy's runner ran well behind Double Double in a maiden at Gowran last time and should be suited by the step up in trip, whilst his prominent racing style is also a plus at the track. He looks an attractive each-way bet at around [7.0].
Director's Forum (18:15) caught the eye when a strong-travelling third in what is turning out to be a strong bumper at Punchestown and is confidently selected to open his account in the closing event on the card. He split a pair of next-time-out winners when third to Ange Blanc last time and travelled like the second best horse in the race for a long way. This isn't nearly as strong a race and he is a very worthy favourite.
