The action at Fairyhouse is due to get under way 14:05.
"Caheronaun improved appreciably to beat a well-handicapped rival by three lengths over two and a half miles at this track last time..."
An interesting card at Fairyhouse for which Timeform's Irish team has come up with a couple of win bets and a lay...
Primroseandblue (14:05) showed fair form when winning a bumper at Gowran in December, but that was his fifth start in that sphere, and he again looked nothing out of the ordinary when second on his hurdling debut last time. Valleymount and Like Your Style are both viable alternatives, too, the former a better horse in bumpers than Primroseandblue and going like a potential improver when third over this course and distance on her hurdling bow, while Like Your Style's chase form is the best on offer and he should be suited by the prevailing testing conditions reverted to hurdles for the first time since 2009/10.
The staying handicap at 15:35 is quite a competitive affair but Caheronaun is still something of a standout. She improved appreciably to beat a well-handicapped rival by three lengths over two and a half miles at this track last time, and the way she went in snatches before powering home firmly indicates even more progression as her stamina is drawn out, while a rise of 7 lb looks lenient. Of the others Vast Consumption could still be well handicapped on just her fourth start for Willie Mullins, but there are doubts about her stamina for a testing three miles (strong traveller), while Our Victoria is another on a potentially good mark judged on her chase form, especially with a good 5 lb claimer up, but does need to bounce back from a poor effort.
Clashnabrook (16:05) has looked most progressive since sent handicapping, winning at Limerick around Christmas and then doubling his tally over this course and distance last time. He did it easily in the latter and a rise of 10 lb looks fair, especially as there are doubts over his main rivals. Lookoutnow has gone up another 8 lb for winning under a well-judged ride last time, King of The Refs is still winless, makes mistakes and hung left last time, while Masked Phantom is starting to look exposed.
