"All was clearly not well in the Acomb at York last month and East Meets West is expected to build on that earlier promise on his first polytrack start".

Three selections for Sunday's eight-race card at Dundalk.

The impression East Meets West (15.05) made prior to York makes him well worth persevering with dropped in class. He stormed home after being boxed in for most of the straight when close third in a listed race at Tipperary, beaten under a length by Strait of Zanzibar. All was clearly not well in the Acomb at York last month and East Meets West is expected to build on that earlier promise on his first polytrack start.

A winner around seven furlongs at Limerick and Galway last summer, Cinnin Oir (17.10) has generally below that level this term, though some of recent efforts have been more encouraging, meeting trouble in running when fifth to Topadee at Tipperary on her penultimate start. Her latest effort is best ignored, trapped wide from a poor draw at Galway, and she looks worth chancing at around [12.5].

The Ice Factor (18.10) may not have shown any ability in maidens for David Loughnane last year, but he beat a subsequent winner with plenty to spare in a juvenile hurdle at Tramore in August on just his second start for Gordon Elliott and he's open to bags of improvement back on the level. A mark of 50 could underestimate him by a long way, and he appeals as the type that could run up a sequence for his new yard.

Recommendations

Back East Meets West at [3.25] in the 15.05
Back Cinnin Oir at [12.5] in the 17.10
Back The Ice Factor at [3.3] in the 18.05
