Treble Jig was a frustrating customer for Sir Michael Stoute, but he's now developing into the smart performer he's always threatened to be and he should take some pegging back in the featured Jebel Ali Mile at 11.15. His style of racing lends itself to racing on dirt and his first experience of the surface saw him win by 10 lengths in a similar event last time. That represented massive improvement, his Timeform rating shooting up over 20 lb, but I don't believe he was in anyway flattered and if allowed to dominate, he should be difficult catch.

Alazeyab caught the eye at Meydan last week and he should take plenty of beating in the conditions event at 12.15. He's started the season very well, winning a handicap in November and barely having a race seven days ago, poorly placed in a race dominated by those ridden prominently. He's favoured by the conditions of the race and it will be disappointing if he's beaten.

Dr Smart has been given a massive chance to land the concluding handicap at 13.15, his dirt mark of 60 some 30 lb lower than his turf/tapeta rating. He really thrived last season, winning a handicap at Abu Dhabi and running several fine races in defeat, all the while kept away from the dirt surface. He surely must be given at least one chance to show himself well handicapped in this sphere, he has finished second before at Jebel Ali after all, and he's taking on a field full of regressive and fully exposed horses.
