Beverley's season gets into full swing with a seven-race card, highlighted by an intriguing three-year-old handicap..
Hacienda demolished a twelve-runner field on his debut at Wolverhampton in February, he was soon in total control and was heavily eased close home. He is Frankie Dettori's only ride at the meeting.
Avonrose won a six furlong maiden at Redcar last May but had her limitations shown up thereafter. She is vulnerable to less-exposed rivals on her first start since October.
Silver Symphony was progressive at two, making all in a maiden at Kempton and finishing third in a nursery next time. Her season came to an abrupt halt with a poor effort in September, and others look better treated on her return.
Bonfire Knight made it third time lucky in maidens when scoring at Catterick (7f) in August. He signed off for the season when finishing second to the classy Layali Al Andalus later that month and he is capable of better still.
Elusive Sue was a runner-up twice in maidens at 2 yrs prior to winning a six furlong event at Haydock in September in decisive fashion. She is from a family of US sprinters, so it remains to be seen how the longer trip serves.
Excellent Day was thrice raced at 2 yrs, following a second in a five furlong maiden at Sandown by going one better in a similar event there in August. She should stay six furlongs and more, but not sighted since her victory and she needs to improve.
Verdict
Hacienda is Frankie Dettori's sole ride on the card and could well be all the rage following his facile debut success at Wolverhampton. He's not easily opposed, but Bonfire Knight strikes as a well-handicapped horse who should do well at 3 yrs and he's the value alternative.
