Rewilding is hot favourite to give Godolphin their sixth Leger win

"Rewilding has looked the ideal St Leger type for a while and is difficult to oppose after his demolition job in the Voltigeur last month"

Ten are set to line up in search of classic glory...

Arctic Cosmos has improved with almost every visit to the track, runner-up in the King Edward VII prior to a strong-finishing third in the Gordon Stakes. He is sure to relish the longer trip, with blinkers now on for first time.

Corsica has been most progressive, winning four times this year, in a 13f Group 3 most recently. He gave his all from the front when behind a couple of these in the Gordon Stakes last time, and is likely to come up short again.

Dandino has made remarkable progress this term, rattling off a four-timer prior to a strong-finishing head second in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood in July. He is possibly capable of better still with more emphasis on stamina.

Joshua Tree did well as a juvenile, and made a promising return to the fray when third behind Rewilding and Midas Touch at York last month. He's sure to be sharper for that, but the longer trip could stretch him more than most.

Midas Touch raised his game again when second to stablemate Cape Blanco in the Irish Derby in June. The step up in trip is sure to suit, but he was firmly put in his place by Rewilding at York last month.

Rewilding could hardly have been more impressive when slamming Midas Touch, Joshua Tree and Ted Spread in the Great Voltigeur at York last month. The longer trip is likely to be right up his street, and he'll be tough to beat.

Ted Spread landed the Group 3 Chester Vase in May. The longer trip is likely to play to his strengths, but it's difficult to envisage him being good enough after being easily brushed aside by Rewilding at York last month.

Theology has stamina in spades on the evidence of his second in the Queen's Vase in June, but his limitations were exposed when he finished behind three of these rivals in the Gordon Stakes, and it's hard to visualise him getting involved.

Total Command took a big step forward when third in the 2m Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot, but was never at the races behind Rewilding at York last month, and a leap of faith is required to lend support.

Snow Fairy followed up her Oaks victory with a wide-margin win in Irish equivalent. She lost no caste in defeat when runner-up to Midday at York last time and looks sure to give another good account upped in trip.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Rewilding 2. Snow Fairy 3. Dandino

Timeform View:
Rewilding has looked the ideal St Leger type for a while and is difficult to oppose after his demolition job in the Voltigeur last month. Dual Oaks heroine Snow Fairy holds solid each-way claims, whilst further progress at this trip is not out of the question for Dandino.
