Only two meetings to choose from across Britain and Ireland today but Timeform's SmartPlays team believe they've found three winning bets at Lingfield nonetheless...

Robin Dickin may be better known for his National Hunt exploits with the likes of smart hurdler Restless Harry but he proved himself capable on the level when training Graham and Lynn Knight's Graylyn Ruby to win a Kempton handicap at long odds in the summer of 2010 and attempts a similar feat with the same owner's Graylyn Valentino (14:45) at Lingfield this afternoon. Graylyn Valentino shaped with encouragement on his handicap bow/seasonal return at Kempton last month, finishing well in mid-field in a mile handicap, and looked one to keep on the right side of in the immediate future. At a big price in an open race, he looks worth chancing with Brett Doyle booked from an inside draw.

Celtic Charlie (15:15) may be a seven-year-old but he's been lightly raced since making his debut as a juvenile in November 2007 and has shown himself better than ever when winning handicaps at today's course at around today's trip on his last two starts (dead-heated on latest). A strong-traveller, Celtic Charlie tops the Timeform ratings for today's race by 4 lb and therefore shouldn't have too much trouble overcoming a 3 lb rise in the handicap. He didn't shape too badly on his most recent start when second over hurdles two weeks ago, and can continue his progression back on the Flat with a hood being deployed for the first time.

The seven-runner ten-furlong handicap that closes the card looks especially trappy and consequently it should pay to place lay Lisahane Bog (17:15). Consistent Lisahane Bog may be, but he's finished in the first two just once in his last dozen races and is one of three in today's line-up with a Timeform 'squiggle' to indicate dubious temperament. He produced a creditable effort at Kempton last time yet was still fourth to a seven-year-old who was beaten in a claimer the time before, and that tells you all you need to know regards his potential to go close off his current BHA rating.
