Three SmartPlays from Kempton, the only surviving meeting in the UK...

We start off with Silver Linnet (14:20) who makes her debut for the John Butler stable this afternoon. It would be fair to say that Silver Linnet's recent form figures for Noel Quinlan do not inspire much confidence, but she has tumbled in the weights as a result and has often shaped better than the bare form. She looks set for a big run today with new headgear in place.

Next up is Satwa Laird (15:55), who didn't manage to land the races that his ability suggested he should when with Ed Dunlop but wasted little time in getting off the mark for David Simcock in a claimer at Lingfield last time. Satwa Laird appeared to have plenty in hand that day and he looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to follow up in a similar event today.

Finally, we come to Astroscarlet (17:00), who has improved since being stepped up to middle distances and tackling handicap company. Indeed, the Mark Tompkins-trained mare has been placed on her last three outings and is only 1 lb higher than when finding a well-ridden favourite too strong at Wolverhampton last month - she is expected to go one better here.
