All three of today's SmartPlays come from Wolverhampton this afternoon...

It would be fair to say that Ivory Silk (14:30) has not been in the best form of late. In fact, she has failed to trouble the judge on her last four outings but there were signs that she might be ready to exploit a reduced mark when finishing down the field at Lingfield last time. Despite her finishing position, Ivory Silk travelled much better than she has in her two previous races before meeting trouble when beginning her run on the home turn, and her jockey was not overly hard on her thereafter. She has won at this venue before and, granted better luck in running, she is expected to go very close this afternoon.

Now, it is not often that a maiden who has failed to win in 12 previous attempts at the track can be recommended as a Smartplay, but Jibouti (17:00) looks set for a big run today. The Clive Brittain-trained gelding patently failed to stay 1½m at Southwell last time, though the fact he was the last horse off the bridle that day emphasises that he remains in form despite his eventual finishing position and, having been placed twice over this course and distance late last year, he should find today's conditions a lot more suitable and is taken to record his first success.

Our final selection today comes in the shape of Kiss A Prince (17:30) who looked right back to his best when defeating the thriving Trip Switch (has won since) at Lingfield earlier this month with plenty in hand. It must be noted that all of his polytrack wins have come at Lingfield, but that is no real concern given he has run well over this course and distance in the past and, despite a 6lb rise in the weights, he remains well treated on old form and he looks a good bet to follow up here.
