Drawnfromthepast (15:00) arrives at Lingfield this afternoon in good form having secured victories in three of his last four starts, including a win over chief rival Hinton Admiral last time. Drawnfromthepast heads the Timeform ratings for today's claimer, considered 2 lb superior to his nearest rival, and, given the level of consistency he has demonstrated recently, he should make a very good go of landing another victory. His latest win looked to be relatively cosy and he looks good value to confirm his superiority over Hinton Admiral and the rest.

Maria Montez was unlucky in defeat last time, finishing second in a six furlong handicap at Wolverhampton, and she should be capable of going one better just 35 minutes later on the same card. Maria Montez is another selection who heads the Timeform ratings and, given the '+' attached to her rating, could be one who is better than the level of form she has demonstrated so far. She was very poorly placed last time but stayed on strongly under pressure, and there is a feeling that, if it wasn't for the traffic problems she experienced, she may well have won. Maria Montez has only gone up 2 lb for that performance but her relatively lightly raced profile suggests that there could be further improvement to come.

The 18:40 at Wolverhampton looks a tight contest but Sudden Wish showed improvement to win on her handicap debut last time and there should be more to come from Alain Bailey's three-year-old filly. Sudden Wish, who left Jim Best after three starts in maiden company, looks the sort who could really take off in the coming weeks for her new stable. She finished strongly to land the victory last time, demonstrating a likable attitude under pressure to narrowly get up, but she did hang left, suggesting she is far from the finished article and there could still be some improvement to come. Sudden Wish also tops the Timeform ratings for her respective race and she should have too many guns for tonight's rivals.
